in the state of missouri can mortgage companies request a reinstatement fee? I am 3 months behind on payments

  1. sadly as soon as you are one payment behind they can pretty much do anythign they want ... technically YOU are in breach on contract and so you HAVE to dance to their tune. harsh but true fact of life :( Good luck.
  2. You need to read your mortgage contract. You got a copy of it at closing and it lists all terms of your loan. Kay
  3. Try to pay something fast. You are not that far behind to keep your house. Usually, most mortgage companies will set up what is referred to as a "grievance payment plan". This plan is usually good for three to four months and helps you pay lower amounts at first and then build up to your actual mortgage payment. They will eventually tack on late fees but at least you wont lose your house. If a re-in statement fee is listed in your paperwork from when you bought the house, then yes, you will have to pay it. Call the mortgage company and discuss this-don't avoid them, it is not too late to work something out.
